A certified fitness professional, Carisa Gaylardo employs a unique system of physical methods and training for clients and patients, such as fascial stretch therapy (FST).
Fascial stretch therapy is essentially aided stretching with a skilled practitioner who is adequately skilled in all of the different stretching techniques and how they affect the fascia. The fascia is a type of connective tissue that runs throughout the body and helps it function. Fascial stretch treatment is used to release fascia that has become knotted and injured as a result of stress, poor posture, and injuries.
Knotted and injured fascia results in pain and limited range of motion in affected muscle areas. As this happens, the person who sustained the injury will have a limited range of tasks they can perform, and their normal daily activities will be affected significantly. With time, this can lead to a body mass index that significantly outweighs the healthy range.
With FST the chances of this occurring would be significantly reduced because the person would have recovered their full motion range and normal daily activities. They would be burning enough calories, which will keep their body mass healthy.
